Why Choose Proactive?

The options for chemical control are extremely complex and it’s essential to successfully navigate the maze of products and select the right product for the right job. I have been in the pest control industry for over eight years. I know the products and am confident in their safety and effectiveness. You can have confidence that we will find the right products for your unique needs. The licensing process, our experience in the local area, along with our preventative approach allows us to deliver superior results.
The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulates the use of pesticides and herbicides on the market. As a licensed and insured professional I have access to products that are more effective than what can be bought over the counter at a do-it-your-self store such as Lowes, Home Depot, or Wal-Mart. Mixing and applying your own chemicals can be hazardous and time consuming. As a whole sale purchaser of professional grade products I am able to give you a better bang for your buck, which I also back up with the best warranty in the industry: unlimited free re-service of your home or yard in between routine quarterly visits! I give you peace of mind.

My pricing for pest and weed control service is determined upon the size of your home and/or yard. The secret to effective pest control is routine maintenance. The service is generally performed on a quarterly or seasonal basis with the first two services being about a month apart allowing me to rotate between products which use different active ingredients, and to disrupt the egg cycle of any insects harboring in your home. On follow-up treatments a call will be placed 24 hours in advance to notify you of the date and time of your next appointment.
Pests live outside and are generally driven into your home in search of a more stable environment where they can find food, water, and avoid the extreme changes in temperature. My primary focus for pest control is to create a protective barrier around the exterior of your residence. By thoroughly treating the outside of your home and yard, pest problems can be proactively prevented before they ever arise. I focus on all pest entry points including doors, windows, and where wiring and pipes enter the structure. I will also treat the interior of your home on an as-needed basis, at your request. I thoroughly inspect your property’s eaves, walkways, driveway, patio, and yard for ants, spiders, scorpions, and other pest infestations.

As a father of 5 children I understand the common concern that many parents and pet owners have for the safety of their loved ones. As a small business owner I have the ability to choose which products (out of the tens of thousands that are available) that I will or will not use. I am very selective in what I will use for either inside or outside treatments especially since I and my team are the ones working with and mixing product concentrates!
Having said that, I want to be very transparent about an often misused and misunderstood word in the pest control industry: “Organic”. We are NOT a strictly organic pest control service. An “Organic” label doesn’t guarantee that the product will be safe for people and pets nor does it guarantee that the product will be effective. We do use many organic based products but what is most important is that I use products that I feel comfortable spraying in my own home and products that have been tried and proven to be effective. The reason that I choose to use some synthetic products is because they are specifically engineered for improved safety & residual effect over their organic counterparts.
For example, the Chrysanthemum flower has a natural insecticidal property found in the Oleoresin extract. Proactive Pest & Weed Control uses pyrethroids, a synthetically reproduced version of that organic botanical ketoalcholic ester. Pyrethroids serve the same purpose as the natural insecticide but provide a LONGER RESIDUAL EFFECT and are 50 TIMES LESS TOXIC. Pyrethroids can be found in topical head lice treatments, many pest treatments for household pets, and are less toxic to people and mammals than ordinary table salt.
Your continued safety in conjunction with a successful pest control plan is my number one priority. The mode of action on the pyrethroids that I use prevent communication to a key neurotransmitter, specific only to insects—posing virtually no harm to humans when used in residential areas. Proactive Pest & Weed Control is proud to use products that have no odor or visible residue. My products are effective enough to use in warehouses and manufacturing plants but safe enough to treat schools, day care centers, nursing facilities, and veterinary clinics as well as your home.
If you require an organic pest or weed control product, please get in touch with me and I’ll recommend a couple of options you can

As our company name implies I can treat for both pest control as well as your weed control needs! I actively maintain both a structural license (for pest control in and around the home) as well as an ornamental and turf license (for weed control and pest control in the yard). When considering a pest control service provider it is important to understand that while it’s helpful to spray in and around the home, that’s just playing defense. My additional categorical 3A & 3B Licensing allows me to go on the offensive and treat out in the yard to address specific pests like ants and black widows all the way to the edge of your property.
I can treat pests out in the yard (which is where they actually live before they come inside). Because I eliminate pests before they move into your home, I don’t usually have to treat inside your house after the first visit.
This allows us to take a proactive approach to eliminating pests on your property. Schedule a consultation to find out how our individualized service plans can address your weed and pest issues.

We don’t believe in locking customers in to a cookie-cutter service—with Proactive Pest & Weed Control, you get individual service. While it certainly takes more thought and effort to develop and maintain unique plans for every customer, customized treatment produces significantly better results.
We develop a unique treatment plan for every customer. Because we’re licensed for both pests & weeds, we have significantly more flexibility in developing an ideal treatment approach for you.
We can adjust based on your specific situation. Want us to spray for pests quarterly AND perform a winter weed preventative? No problem. Want us to spray your summer weeds, address a mouse or rat problem, and do a preventative insect spray annually? We can do that, too!
Fortunately, custom/individual plans does not mean more expensive. We aren’t the most expensive pest control company and we’re not the cheapest, but because of our unique approach to licensing and treatment, we deliver the best value in the Albuquerque area.
If you do choose to utilize both our weed control and pest control services, we’ll create a plan that will help you save on both. If you just want pest treatment you’ll still benefit from our pests + weeds approach as we are licensed to proactively treat pests out in your yard as well as the foundation and inside.
