Rodent Control

Rodent Control in Albuquerque

Property-Specific Rodent Control for Albuquerque Homes & Businesses

Scratching sounds, droppings, gnaw marks, damaged food packaging, and nesting material can signal activity inside a home or commercial building. Because rodents may travel through walls, ceilings, attics, garages, and storage areas, the animal you notice may be only one part of the problem.

We serve residential and commercial customers with treatment plans tailored to each property. At ProActive Pest & Weed Control, we have provided indoor and outdoor pest and weed control since 2011 using kid- and pet-friendly products.

What a Rodent-Control Assessment Considers

A rodent-control assessment looks beyond visible signs to the conditions that allow mice or rats to enter, find shelter, and return. Treatment decisions may depend on the property layout, location of the activity, available food and water, and possible access points.

Important areas and conditions may include:

Entry Points: Gaps around foundations, doors, vents, rooflines, garages, and utility penetrations.
Interior Activity: Droppings, gnaw marks, tracks, nesting material, and noises inside walls or ceilings.
Food & Water: Accessible food, spills, waste, pet food, and moisture sources.
Shelter: Attics, garages, sheds, storage areas, vegetation, and stored materials.

Effective rodent management generally combines reducing current activity with addressing the conditions behind it. Prevention measures may include sanitation and rodent-proofing, which involves sealing openings to help keep rodents from entering.

When to Request a Free Estimate

Reach out if you’ve seen rodents, heard unexplained movement, or want to discuss prevention. Tell us where and when you noticed the activity so we can discuss what your property may require.

Where Rodents May Enter & Shelter

Rodents can use small openings and sheltered routes throughout a building. Depending on where signs appear, attention may focus on kitchens and storage areas, wall voids and ceilings, attics and garages, or exterior openings and shelter.

Rodent-control decisions typically depend on:

Current Activity: The type, location, and extent of the signs present.
Property Layout: The areas rodents may use to enter or move through the building.
Sanitation Conditions: Food, water, waste, or clutter around the property.
Service Goal: Whether the immediate concern is active control, prevention, or both.

The CDC advises against vacuuming or sweeping dry rodent droppings or nesting material. Handle contaminated material carefully and follow current public-health guidance for wetting, disinfecting, and disposal.

How Outdoor Conditions Contribute to Rodent Activity

Rodent concerns aren’t always limited to the room where signs appear. Vegetation, stored materials, food, water, and structural openings can affect where rodents shelter and how they approach a building.

Because we provide both pest control and weed control, we can consider conditions across the property. Weed management can reduce hiding spots for common pests while supporting the health and appearance of landscaped and xeriscaped areas. We tailor each plan to the property rather than applying the same treatment everywhere, with service available for both indoor and outdoor areas.
